The Brown-headed Nuthatch





The Brown-headed Nuthatch is a medium-sized nuthatch with a gray head and a brown cap, dark eye-line and a white face. The wings and tail are gray. The sexes are similar. The Brown-headed Nuthatch is a resident in much of the southeastern U.S. Preferred habitats include coniferous and mixed forests. Nuthatches are sometimes seen climing up or bown tree trunks.
